About KORREKTURDIENST

KORREKTURDIENST is an Austrian company based in Styria, specializing in proofreading, editing, plagiarism checks, and text optimization including formatting.

I work on a wide range of German and English texts – from academic theses such as dissertations, master’s and bachelor’s theses to technical texts, manuscripts, and self-help guides, as well as marketing materials and corporate communications.

My services are aimed at students, pupils, authors, companies, and organizations who value linguistically precise, formally correct, and stylistically compelling texts.

I place particular emphasis on correct and gender-sensitive language, as new linguistic standards continue to evolve in this area.

I also offer fast and secure plagiarism checks (Instant Plag Scan) – ideal for preparing academic submissions or for internal quality assurance.

Each text is handled individually – with over 20 years of experience, personal commitment, and the aim of delivering the highest linguistic quality.

About Me – Editing & Editorial Work

christa.png

I’m Christa and have been working with texts for over 20 years. I wrote my first diploma thesis in the field of medical technology and completed a WIFI course in payroll accounting. I also hold a degree in Cultural Anthropology and European Ethnology from the University of Graz. This combination enables me to work precisely with both humanities and business-related content.

German is my native language. I have language skills in English, French, Italian, and Swedish – both spoken and written, at varying levels of proficiency.

I support clients from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Hungary, Denmark, Norway, Russia, and South Africa – in both academic and professional contexts.

In addition to academic and technical editing, I also write literary texts and have received a literary award for my work.

To date, I have professionally edited or proofread over 480 academic papers and specialist texts – with reliability, precision, and respect for the original.

What sets me apart:
– Over 480 edited and proofread papers
– Individual support through to the final version
– In-depth linguistic and subject-specific expertise
– International clients from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Hungary, Slovenia, Denmark, Norway, Russia, and South Africa

Every text is handled personally – with precision, reliability, and the utmost care.

Transparent Corrections – Traceable Down to the Last Detail

Transparency, traceability, and targeted support during post-editing are key elements of our work at KORREKTURDIENST.

I proofread and edit your texts using the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word. This can be activated under the “Review” tab – all changes made are fully visible and traceable.

For each correction, I add comments with explanations and suggestions for improvement where necessary. This allows you to see exactly what was changed and why.

Even for pure proofreading assignments without booked editing, I point out serious phrasing or content issues clearly and transparently.

A commented edit provides the following advantages:

  • You understand every change in context

  • You retain full control over your text

  • You can easily accept or reject individual suggestions

My work doesn’t end with proofreading and editing – I support you right through to the final polish that conveys your message effectively.

How Track Changes Works in Word

In the ribbon of your Word document, you’ll find the “Track Changes” function under the “Review” tab. When activated, all changes made are automatically marked and visible.

Under “Markup: All,” you can choose which types of changes are displayed. You can adjust the view at any time – for example, switch to “Markup: None” if you want to see only the clean version of the text.

When you receive your corrected document from me, you will get two versions:

– A file with visible markup (all changes and comments)
– A file with all changes accepted (for easier reading)

This way, you can decide for yourself which changes to accept or reject.

Sections that require your further attention – for example, because content is unclear or incomplete – are highlighted in yellow to make sure you don’t miss them.

Don’t worry about red marks, squiggly lines, or yellow highlights: they’re not criticism, but clear and helpful guidance showing you where revision is still needed.

Consultation and Language Support – Until Your Text Is Professionally Finalized

Especially in the final phase of a text project – whether academic, literary, or business-related – questions often arise: about structure, formatting, or comments in the document.

Many of my clients are not familiar with Word’s Track Changes mode. Marked edits or yellow highlights can seem confusing at first – that’s completely normal.

That’s why my work doesn’t end with the first editing pass. I answer your follow-up questions, explain suggestions in detail if needed, and support you if you want to revise certain passages again.

I remain flexible with further text adjustments – and will support you until your final version is ready for confident submission or publication.

I take your questions seriously and remain available – until your text is truly complete.
